Come in and discover a legacy of flavours that has endured for nearly a century. A place steeped in tradition, where classic elegance meets authentic dishes and every visit is a journey.

A warm atmosphere and a warm welcome await you at Al Pompiere, a restaurant in the Jewish Ghetto run by the Monteferri family since 1928. Frescoed ceilings, terracotta floors, period marble and large windows overlook the natural stage of Piazza delle Cinque Scole, in the 17th-century Palazzo di Beatrice Cenci. Renowned in Rome, throughout Italy and abroad for its famous carciofi alla Giudia, zucchini flowers and salt cod fillets, it serves traditional Roman dishes such as tonnarelli cacio e pepe, spaghetti alla carbonara, bucatini all'amatriciana, tonnarelli with artichokes, tripe, oxtail, sweetbreads, saltimbocca and more.

Historic Restaurant in the Jewish Quarter
Located in the Jewish Quarter, this historic trattoria serves traditional Roman dishes. We enjoyed the fried artichokes and sweetbreads, fried vegetables, roast lamb and Roman-style saltimbocca.
Attentive, professional and quick service despite the large Sunday lunch crowd. Recommended.
